Kristin Fisher was added to CNN's Space and Defense Correspondent team on July 20, 2021. In her role as Space and Defence Correspondent at CNN, she is responsible covering everything from NASA and the newly formed Space Force up until commercial space firms, as well as the growth and advent of tourism to space. Kristin is the mother of two NASA astronauts. Kristin has grown up with the space industry and has covered Trump and Biden Administration space policies for FOX News as White House Correspondent. She also covered the 2020 presidential race and efforts by two administrations to combat the coronavirus. The reporter also traveled extensively with the Vice President and President of the United States as well as a secret trip to Afghanistan together with the former president Donald Trump. Prior to joining the network in, Kristin spent nearly a 10 years working her way up through local TV news markets including Grand Junction, Colorado; Little Rock, Arkansas; and Washington, D.C. where she received an Emmy Award as a one-man-band reporter for the Washington, D.C.'s CBS affiliate. Kristin, who is an experienced filmmaker, established Field Mouse Films, a business that specialises in documentary style films, for companies such as Uber and Starwood Hotels & Resorts. Kristin earned her Bachelor of Science degree in journalism from Boston University. She lives in Washington, D.C. with her husband, and their three-year old daughter.
